Study Groups!

Lets start getting organized with our study groups. If you already have one, post it, in case anyone has any questions for you. If you are interested in starting or joining one, and do not know how to go about it, post your questions, concerns or interests. Mondays, at Shima 217 tutor center, will be a study group for pharmacology at 10:30-12:30 and 4:30 until classtime. Fridays at 1:00-4:00 (or so) lets get together in Dannere Hall (North end of cafeteria) and recap the weeks lectures and skills. We can also work on practice tests and talk through the rationale Depending on how many are interested in this, we can break up into multiple groups. If you want to reserve the group study room in the library, know that it goes by first come first sign up only, on a daily basis ( no standing reservations). As soon as I debrief the medical reference librarian, I will post the resorces that are offered. If you want to practice NCLEX-RN test questions, I will have books and CDs with thousands of questions to practice with ( I will have laptop there every day for the test and text CDs) Come into the tutor center and reserve a time with me for study group or test practice. Good places to meet are, Borders bookstore ( I-5 and Eight Mile Rd. closes at 11pm), Barnes and Noble (across from the college, usually crowded), Cunningham Lounge ( 1st floor, usually room), Danner Hall (when open, does anyone know the hours?), and any grassy area that is not wet and has access to a bathroom.

Today's group in Danner Hall practiced Analysis, Diagnosis and Implementation questions and rationale ( until they threw us politely out), for the first quiz next week. The group has decided to meet every Friday (same place)from 11:00-3:00. We will be using questions from the text, CDs, class notes, practice tests, and various other sources, for review. Anyone is welcome to drop in.

The answer to question of the week 1/17-1/21 on the 'Web page' blog, is...
Number 1
Rationale:
Local irritation of tissues indicates a corrosive poisoning. The other comments may be helpful for the overall child’s condition. However, the question is about the concern for a caustic substance.
