Nursing Care for Patients with Gastrointestinal Disorders
Do you know what to do after receiving report on patients with various GI disorders? Patients with GI disorders usually present to their provider with vague complaints of abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and changes in bowel elimination. These patients can be difficult to accurately diagnose and care for. A strong examination, obtaining an accurate H & P, and interpreting lab values help nurses to intervene appropriately. Wednesday, May 11th, 2pm in Locke 118, let's discuss some of these GI disorders. I will present a "Shift Report", you guys try to anticipate questions that should be asked and interventions that should be done. See you Wednesday. Richard
