Message From Mary Neville

Dear Students...
I just wanted to touch base and let you know what is going on in these last few weeks before classes start. There is a lot going on and a lot of new information and requirements that need to be completed for class and clinical.

First...CONGRATULATIONS!! on reading your student email! It is critical that you get into the habit of checking as often as possible. Please try to read it daily and, if you don't have internet at home, get one of your friends to help you out or use the email system at school.

NEW SKILLS LAB REQUIREMENTS: All students need to get the varicella titre drawn...even if you have had the chicken pox, you need the titre...Julie Lang has a new immunization form for those of you who have not yet had it done, or you may just bring in the lab result...you need to get this done as soon as possible, as it is a new requirement for clinical...you may have it done by your regular practitioner or Dameron Hospital will be happy to provide the service to you for a fee of $15.00...just call Dameron at (209)944-5550 and ask for Occupational Health...be sure to tell them that you are a private pay patient.

Dameron Clinical groups ONLY: If you have clinical at Dameron Hospital in the Fall semester, you need to contact Monalisa Dasalla at 461-3139 (option 4) and make arrangements for your ID photo, your drug screen (no charge to students at Dameron), your Hepatitis C titre (approximately $15.00 charge to student), and you may get your varicella drawn for the $15.00 fee as well, if desired. If you want to have the Hepatitis C drawn at your own practitioner's office, make sure that you have the results to Julie in the Nursing Office prior to beginning clinical at Dameron.

St. Joseph's clinical groups: You should have your appointments for orientation all set with Julie in the Nursing Office. If you are an employee at St. Joe's or have been to St. Joe's for clinical since starting in the program, you are not required to attend orientation, but may need to get a new badge if you were at St. Joseph's Behavioral Health. You may make get your badge at St. Joseph's in the office across from Human Resources on Tuesdays from 8:30 am to 4:00pm. Call Julie Lang in the Nursing Office if you have questions or concerns (209)954-5454.

St. Joseph's Behavioral Health clinical groups: If you have not been to any St. Joseph's facility during the program, you must attend the hospital orientation as arranged. If you have been to any St. Joseph's facility since starting this program, you will only need a new ID. You may make get your badge at St. Joseph's in the office across from Human Resources on Tuesdays from 8:30 am to 4:00pm.

Call Julie Lang in the Nursing Office if you have questions or concerns (209)954-5454.
I hope to see you all soon,

Mary Neville, Interim Director of Health Sciences
